Getting your project started and maintaining a smooth, efficient workflow in Studio is simple. Upload documents directly into the text editor instead of copying and pasting your script.
Importing a script
- Create or open a project in Studio.
- Click Import Script at the top right.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Drag & Drop your file into the upload window.
- Browse and select a file from your computer.
- Paste a URL. Please note that some links may not work if there are permission restrictions.
TIP: URLs must end in .txt, .pdf, or .docx. If a URL doesn’t work, try downloading the file and uploading it directly.
That’s it! Once uploaded, your script will appear in your Studio Editor, and you’ll be ready to refine and render your audio.
Supported file types, size, and languages

FAQs
Q: Can a zip file be used to upload multiple scripts simultaneously?
A: You can only upload one file at a time in the text editor—render your audio first, then upload the next file. Zip files are not supported right now.
Q: My file won’t upload - what’s wrong?
A: Check that your file is in .txt, .pdf, or .docx format, that the file is not too large, and that the script is not heavily formatted with bold, italic, or strikethrough text, emojis, etc. If you’re still unable to upload your script, reach out to Support for further assistance.
Q: My script contains pictures, and some of them have captions. Will that affect my upload?
A: Not at all. Your script upload will go through smoothly, even with pictures included. Picture captions will not be uploaded as part of your script.
Q: I have a slide show presentation. Can I upload it to Studio?
A: First, you’ll need to convert your presentation to a .pdf, and then you’ll be ready to upload it to the Studio Editor.
Q: Does the 5k character limit still apply?
A: If your script is longer than 5,000 characters, you'll have the option to render it by paragraph or sentence. You may experience errors if you try to render scripts longer than 48 paragraphs or 98 sentences. For more information about Studio’s 5k character limit, check out our Help Center.
