Article overview
Compare a few voices against your own script before you commit to one.
Start by narrowing down your voice options to a shortlist. From there, test your top picks against a piece of your actual script — not just a generic sample — to hear how each one really performs.
Narrowing your options
- In the Voices library, open the filter sidebar.
- Filter by gender, style, accent, age, or characteristic (like Warm, Confident, Authoritative) to match the tone you're going for.
- Click the play icon on a voice to preview its default sample.
Testing your top voices
- Choose two or three voices from your filtered results.
- Click on Use voice to create a section for each one.
- Paste the same script excerpt into each section.
- Click the play icon on each section to generate a take.
Playing back takes side by side, using the same excerpt, is the fastest way to tell which voice actually fits your content.
Picking your favorite
Once you've settled on a voice, click the heart icon to favorite it. Favorited voices are saved for quick reuse on future projects — see Favoriting a Voice for more.
FAQs
Q: Does testing voices use up my downloaded minutes?
A: No. Generating a take to preview or compare voices doesn't count against your minute quota — only audio you actually download does, so audition as many voices as you'd like.
