- Rewrite for Speech: Available with an Enterprise subscription, this feature suggests a version of your text that’s easier for text-to-speech (TTS) to pronounce naturally, especially for things like numbers, dates, measurements, units, reference codes, URLs, and email addresses. Maintain your meaning and tone for a more natural take.
- Emphasis: Available with all subscriptions, you can automatically add quotation marks to words, directing the voice to emphasize the word. Control tone and delivery by adding natural stress to important words or phrases.
Note: You can review any suggested rewrites before applying them and undo rewrite or emphasis changes at any time.
Applying Rewrite for Speech
- Highlight your text in the Studio editor for the Smart Toolbar to display.
- Select Rewrite for Speech to automatically reformat text to improve pronunciation.
- Approve or Undo any changes. If no changes are necessary, you’ll receive a notification that the text is already optimized for speech.
Adding Emphasis
- Highlight your word in the Studio editor for the Smart Toolbar to appear.
- Select the Emphasis option to apply quotation marks to the highlighted word automatically.
Tip: For the best results, make sure your highlighted text doesn’t contain any breaks or spaces.

Q: Do these features change my text permanently?
A: No. You can choose to accept or reject rewrite suggestions before they are applied. Quotation marks for emphasis can be easily deleted.
Q: Can I turn off Smart Toolbar options?
A: Yes, a team admin can turn off Smart Toolbar options by going to Account Settings > Settings and toggling AI Smart Features off. Please note that this will disable all smart features, including Smart Suggestions.
Q: Does Emphasis change pitch or just volume?
A: Emphasis gently adjusts vocal inflection and energy. The exact effect will vary based on the characteristics of each of our voices.
