Translate any finalized English project into another language directly inside Studio – no external tools or separate workflow needed.
Available on Enterprise plans using WellSaid Studio project types.
Before You Start
- Source project must be in English – one language at a time.
- Translation creates a new, separate project in the same folder – your original is never modified.
- Section structure, formatting, pauses, and audio settings carry over.
- Cues, custom pronunciations, and phonetic respellings do not carry over.
- For high-stakes content, native speaker review is recommended.
Translate a Project
- Open your finalized English project in WellSaid Studio.
- Click the three-dot menu (...) next to the project name and select Translate.
- Choose a target language from the drop-down.
- Select a target voice in the chosen language.
- Click Translate to confirm.
Your translated project will appear in the same folder as the original.
- To change the voice, click Select All, then click See All Voices in the right sidebar.
- Review the translated script, then edit and render as usual.
Note: Very long scripts may hit the character limit. Try splitting the content before rendering.
FAQs
Q: Which languages are supported?
A: All non-English languages available in Studio. See full list of languages.
Q: Will translating my project change the original?
A: No. Translation always creates a new, separate project. Your original is never modified.
Q: What will happen to brand and product names?
A: Brand, product, and technical system names are preserved as written and not translated.
Q: If I make edits to my original script, will the translated projects automatically update?
A: No. The translation process creates a separate, unique project that must be edited separately from the source.
Q: What about acronyms like HIPAA or GDPR?
A: Acronyms are preserved and not translated. TTS pronunciation in the target language may still sound off — use a custom replacement if needed.
