Article overview
You can generate audio for your entire project in a single click using the Generate button — no need to render each section one at a time.
When you build a project in WellSaid Studio, each section of your script needs to be rendered into audio before you can download it. For longer scripts, doing this one section at a time can take a while.
The Generate button queues every unrendered section and processes them all in one batch — so you can step away and come back to a finished project.
Before you get started
- Have an active project with at least one unrendered section.
- For voice and model settings, finalize them before starting — they are locked once the batch begins.
- For script edits, complete them before starting — sections edited mid-batch won't re-render automatically.
Generating audio for all sections
- Open your project in WellSaid Studio.
- Confirm your script is ready.
- Click on Generate in the top-right corner of the editor.
- Monitor progress — each section displays one of the following statuses:
- Queued — the section is waiting to be processed.
- Rendering — audio is actively being generated.
- Done — the section finished rendering successfully.
- Failed — the section did not render and needs to be retried.
- Wait for the batch to complete.
- Click on Download once all sections show Done.
For scripts with 100 or more sections, allow extra time before downloading. The batch will complete — just give it room to finish.
If a section fails
Failed sections are labeled clearly in your script. Retry them one at a time — you don't need to restart the whole batch.
- Locate the failed section in your script.
- Click on Retry on that section.
While a batch is running
- Play back any section that has already finished rendering.
- Cancel the full batch at any time by clicking Cancel.
- Refresh the page safely — the batch continues processing in the background.
FAQs
Q: Will this re-render sections I've already generated?
A: No. Only unrendered sections are queued. Already-rendered sections are skipped automatically.
Q: What happens if I edit a section while the batch is running?
A: The batch continues unaffected. The edited section is marked as unrendered and won't be included in the current batch — click Generate again after the batch finishes to render it.
Q: Can I change my voice or model settings mid-batch?
A: No. Voice and model settings are locked when the batch starts. Make all changes before clicking Generate.
Q: What if I close the tab during a batch?
A: The batch keeps running in the background. Reopen your project to check progress.
Q: Can I choose which sections to generate?
A: The Generate button queues all unrendered sections. To render a single section, click the play button on that section directly.
