Running low on minutes before your plan renews? You can top up or buy more minutes on top of your current plan — no upgrade needed.
Add-ons let you purchase extra minutes without upgrading to a higher plan tier. Your new minutes are available immediately and stack on top of your existing monthly quota.
Before you get started
- Add-ons are available on Starter, Pro, and Business minutes-based plans. If you see a minutes counter in the top right of Studio, you're on a minutes-based plan. Trial and legacy accounts don't have access.
- Enterprise and managed accounts can't purchase add-ons self-serve — contact your account manager instead.
- You can have only one add-on active at a time.
Purchasing an add-on
- Navigate to Account Settings > Overview.
- Click on Add more minutes in the Usage section.
- Select a monthly or yearly tier based on how many extra minutes you need.
- Review the purchase summary.
- Click on Purchase.
Your add-on minutes are available right away and combined with your plan's existing quota. For example, a 20-minute Starter plan plus a 60-minute add-on gives you 80 minutes total.
Tip: Your add-on charge is billed immediately and prorated to your current billing period — you only pay for the remaining days.
What happens after you purchase
- Your Account Settings page shows two separate cards: your current plan and your add-on.
- Your combined usage total updates to reflect both your plan and add-on minutes together.
- Add-on minutes reset on your plan's renewal date and don't roll over to the next period.
Upgrading your add-on
- Navigate to Account Settings > Overview.
- On the Add-on card, click Upgrade.
- Select a higher tier based on how many extra minutes you need.
- Review the purchase summary.
- Click on Purchase.
Your upgraded minutes are available right away and replace your current add-on allotment.
Tip: To get more capacity later, use Upgrade rather than purchasing a second add-on.
FAQs
Q: I'm on a free trial. Why don't I see the option to add minutes?
A: Add-ons aren't available on trial accounts. You'll need to choose a paid plan first.
Q: Can I get a refund if I don't use all my add-on minutes?
A: No, add-on charges aren't refundable.
Q: Can I downgrade my add-on to a lower tier?
A: Downgrading isn't supported directly. To move to a lower tier, cancel your current add-on first and purchase a lower tier once your billing period ends.
