Curious what's next for WellSaid voices? As a paid Studio user, you can preview our newest models right inside your current projects — just a few clicks, and your existing work stays untouched.

Before you get started

• Confirm you're not on a free plan or Business trial tier, and are a paid Studio user. Check your plan under Account Settings > Overview.
• For API access, confirm your account is on the Preview allowlist. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you're not sure.

Who can use Preview models

Preview access is available to all tiers except free plan and Business trial (see above). API customers can get access too, through the allowlist your account team sets up.

Using a Preview model

To render with a Preview model:

1. Select a Voice for the take.
2. Open the voice model dropdown.
3. Click on Preview.
4. Render your audio.

If more than one Preview model is available, you'll see Preview 1 and Preview 2 listed instead. You can choose which model to use at two levels:

• For a specific section, choose your model from the voice style selector.
• For your whole project, choose your model from the Voices page dropdown.

Your Standard and Caruso models stay available the whole time, and your existing renders aren't affected.

What happens if a Preview model changes

1. The Preview option is removed from the dropdown.
2. Audio you already made with the Preview model switches to Read Only and is available for download only.
3. The content in your section is maintained, but you'll need to regenerate it using an available model.

Getting Preview access for the API

API access runs through an allowlist — there's no self-serve option yet. Contact your Customer Success Manager to get your account added.

Giving feedback on a Preview model

Your feedback helps shape how each Preview model develops before it's fully released. To share feedback on a specific render:

1. After a section renders with a Preview model, look for the thumbs up or thumbs down icon on that section.
2. Click thumbs down to open a feedback modal, where you can share what you noticed about the render.
3. For more detailed feedback, use the feedback icon in the global menu, or reach out directly to your Customer Success Manager or WellSaid support.

What you've accomplished

You now know how to switch to a Preview model, render audio with it, and what happens if that model changes. Your Standard and Caruso models are always there if you want to switch back.

FAQs

Q: What does Read Only mean for audio I already rendered with a Preview model?
A: You can still play and download that audio, but you can't edit or re-render it. To make changes, render the section again using Caruso or Standard models.

Q: What happens to my Preview access if I downgrade tiers?
A: You lose access to Preview models if you drop below the Creative tier. Any audio you already rendered with one switches to Read Only, the same as when a model update happens.
