Article overview
Over the next few months, we'll be retiring our legacy projects. Starting June 1, 2026, you'll be able to migrate legacy projects into WellSaid Studio. We'll share more details as the date approaches. This article covers what's changing, what to expect, and what you can do to prepare.
What's changing
WellSaid Studio is our current Studio experience, and it's available to all customers today. It includes access to our Standard and Caruso voice models, along with everything else you would expect from Studio.
Some accounts also have legacy projects — projects created in our previous Studio UI before WellSaid Studio existed, including older Standard, Global, Beta, and Caruso project types. These will be retired over the coming months.
What this means for your projects
- Nothing is being deleted. Your scripts, generated audio, clip order, and team permissions all carry over — this applies to all legacy projects, including personal ones.
- Migration is not automatic. Starting in June, you'll be able to migrate projects one at a time, on your own schedule.
- Some things will behave differently in WellSaid Studio. For example, audio generated with older voice models (previous) will remain available for playback and download, but won't be editable.
- Un-migrated projects will eventually become view-only. You'll still be able to open them and play or download existing audio, but you won't be able to edit them or generate new audio.
What you can do now
There's nothing you need to do today, but a little prep will make the transition smoother:
- Take inventory of your legacy projects. Identify which projects are actively used or edited. The active ones are what to prioritize once migration is available.
- Spend time in WellSaid Studio. If your work still mostly happens in legacy projects, getting familiar with WellSaid Studio now will make migration easier later.
- Loop in your team. Migrating a project requires full access, project owner, or workspace admin permissions. Make sure the right people on your team are aware.
